Art Guidelines:
Please supply camera-ready, high contrast art that is clean and sharp. Providing the best version of art available significantly reduces your art charges and allows us to provide the best screen print and/or embroidery for you. Should you have any questions regarding the creation or submission of art to us for print, contact the art department for further information.

The only form of artwork we can accept as "camera ready" (that will not incur artwork fees) are vector graphic images saved as either Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw, PDF (provided it is set up correctly), or EPS with all text converted to curves and all layers maintained. We are PC based, so MAC only files are not acceptable.  All other file types will be subject to an art charge. We work in CS4 so files must be saved back if they were created in a newer version of Illustrator. If you have Photoshop files, we will assess the file and let you know if it is usable. Please include a picture (jpg) of your artwork so we can compare the files and make sure no font or color substitution took place. Also, if certain ink colors are required, please specify PMS or spot color designations. Due to hardware and software color calibration considerations, this will allow the best color matching possible.

Acceptable file formats:
We can accept Tiff, JPG, BMP, GIF, and most other graphic file types, but these will not be considered camera ready and will require our art department to rework them in order to make them useable for screen printing. All raster artwork (ie. jpg, bmp, gif, etc) should be sent in actual size. For example, if you wish to make the image to be printed at 12 inches across, the image you send should be 12 inches across. We can not correct for low resolution or poor scanning. All text must be converted to outlines to prevent the need for us to have your exact font. Please refrain from setting your halftones or using gradient mesh's as this may cause unpredictable results.

Photographs (black and white, or colored) are not generally useable for textile printing. Photos are composed of fine dots which get lost in the screen mesh and in the course weave (woven, not smooth like paper, vinyl or you monitor) of the garments. For the same reason avoid shades, blends, and shadows in your artwork for screen printing on textiles. Anything composed of dots should be avoided.

We cannot accept artwork done using word processor programs like Word, or presentation programs like Powerpoint, or layout programs such as Quark. We also do not accept floppy or zip disks. If you have an image/file that does not meet our requirements above, contact us and we will do our best to make it work.

Proofs:
When creating designs for our customers, proofs are a way of assuring that we have set your type correctly and that all of the design elements are placed according to your requirements. A proof will be sent to you via email that can be approved through email or by calling our office and giving a verbal approval. We do not proceed with printing without approval from the customer.

Avoid file issues:
JPG'S and GIF'S are the 2 main types of web page image formats. It is not possible for anyone to reproduce these tiny web based images exactly. On a computer monitor these images appear crisp and clean, however, when they are enlarged for printing the end result is an inferior pixelated image. Our art staff can use these images as reference for re-drawing if applicable. Art charges will accrue for time spent re-drawing these images based on the complexity of the final artwork. We need images/designs in a Vector format (Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, etc) versus a "Bitmap" format (internet images, .gif, .jpg, .bmp, jpg, etc). If you are using a "scanned image" it is a Bitmap. Images from websites and the Internet are not only Bitmaps but usually only 72 DPI (dots per inch) and very low resolution = low quality for printing.
